The Black Maria Memorial Fund ... Nails Down A Blackbird for the second full album, following on the heels of Another Tragic Year With ... .
The record features contributions from Rose, Roger and Paddy, as well as the work of Windom and of course Kieran. The Fund is also indebted to John, without whose generosity - and, more specifically, personal computer - the record wouldn't exist.
The Marquis Floored Genius, a notable patron of The Fund, had the following words for the occasion:
"Like a mathematical problem involving imaginary numbers, or an affliction preventing action, ... Nails Down A Blackbird is complex.
"It is an assembly of odds and ends of the musical spectrum woven together by the lyrical intricacies and absorbing melodies of a surreal summer's day.
"But it's also a rip-roaring journey though spiky hooks and soaring guitars, battering down any resistance and all in its wake with incessant invention.
"And all this done though the sole medium of home recording and under the ethos of doing it for one's self. Oh, and it sounds quite good too."
The album is, in a very 21st century way, only available download - with a Radiohead-style honesty box to boot if you fancy helping The Fund to continue its work.
